ONE YEAR! |
This week went well! Thanks for all of your letters! So tomorrow we are heading to the Temple! Sick whips! So stoked!
So one time of year there´s these things called son po pos de mayo. They`re ants... but they are like the size of a small dog! They are freaking huge! My comp says in guate they fry em and eat em... crazy.
So...now I believe in haunted houses... not going to explain why... but its real... jajaja!
Had my one year mark last week... btw...I have the most time in the mission than anyone else in the zone... except for two people... weird right? Burned a shirt. Sick whips!
Today we played soccer in the rain... so much fun! Until Winter kicked my ball I got for my b -day into space... wont get that back...jajajaja! whatever right?
So we were eating dinner one night and this lady in our ward that uses a wheel chair asked for some help... she took us to an area that I knew existed, but never knew how to get there... we started looking for people over there and it has been successful! Its kinda cool how the lord blesses you because... I thought that we didn´t have enough time to take her home that night..and we ended up finding a family over there... I talk more about them in a little bit:)
So that prayer story that I told a few weeks ago? Still applies.. I tell you why..remember S? we found her and her son in the same way.. well... we stopped trying with her because she was never home... This week one of our lessons fell through and we were close so we tried to visit the son.. he was home and said, Hermanos! come in! So we walked in and he was like, the Book of Mormon sounded really interesting the last time you came so I started reading from the beginning...I just finished 2 Nephi! It was really cool because the mom didn´t really want it anyway.. but the son yes! So that was really cool... he also said that very soon he will be a member of the church... I just have to be sure and my mom has to be OK with it.... so that was really cool!... first time we went to visit, Paradise by Coldplay was playing:)
This week we had a leadership training again... it was really cool! It was on setting goals... also, a story about Elder Ballard was told about when he was a seventy member and was invited for a prayer with the twelve apostles and the prophet. He said that the thing that hit him was when the prophet prayed and said "we hope that our days work has been acceptable unto to thee today" -I hope that we all will be able to say that at the end of every day... very powerful.... also saw Elder Coy that day! He´s almost ready to go home! Going home 20 June... crazy sauce.. he definitely has been my favorite companion... and I feel like I was his as well! Whenever we see each other at a meeting, he always saves me a seat and always has a tie or a box of oreos for me. It really means a lot to me that I mean as much to him as he does to me:)
Elder Falabella(a seventy) came to our ward yesterday. Thank goodness we had investigators there because if not, he would have macheted us to a pulp-JK... but it was really cool! and powerful... Its not everyday that a seventy member comes to your ward... its not everyday a general authority comes to your house and prays with you....(Elder Martino and Elder Coy and I:))
This week we found what I would like to say, a family of gold! They were so in tune and we challenged them and they said yes, on the condition of reading the Book of Mormon. But I feel like I had a very special experience with them this week. On the first lesson, we gave the first prayer and at that point in time I thought that they only had one little girl. After the prayer, a 2 year old boy came out. I was sitting on the edge of my seat, with my elbows on my knees and my hands together. The little boy came up to me and opened my hands up and gave me a hug and wanted me to hug back. I didn´t say one word to him, but he came straight for me, then to my companion. Then the mother said, That is really weird, because he doesn´t really do that kind of thing. He`s not really cariñoso. I thought about this experience after the lesson. I thought about how children are a lot more sensitive to the spirit than adults. And I felt that his spirit came to ours to thank us. Because the spirit was familiar to him. And his little gesture of affection had a message. "Thank you for bringing this to my family. " I don't know if the family will get baptized. But I knew that that little boy knew and saw something that the parents didn't see or know. The truth. I am so grateful for the gospel in my life and the blessings it brings to families.
